Stereo X Power Amplifier

Like many before me, my humble home theater project has transformed into a balancing act to also deliver a higher level of stereo fidelity for music enjoyment. I quickly realized a speaker upgrade was in order, landing on a pair of Monitor Audio Gold 200s in an elegant piano ebony finish. As great as they looked, they didn't wash over me with sonic magic as I expected. Discussions with fellow enthusiasts led me to conclude I likely lacked the power needed to make these speakers shine through dynamic compositions, even though my existing class D IcePower amp with 120W per channel into 4ohm seemed enough for these speakers. Research brought me to the HypeX line of modules and to Peachtree Audio. Promising for these speakers what would essentially be unlimited power, 600W into 4ohm, I went with the Stereo X option. The Peachtree did not disappoint. Stereo imaging has opened up and wrapped around me, unlike anything I was expecting. Mid and high frequency details have newly emerged from passages I've heard many times prior. The expanded dynamics extend to a seemless integration for multichannel home theater, providing excellent punch and a tight presentation, with most of the action delivered by the Stereo X posted mains. In all, the Stereo X has saved my speaker investment and provided hours of listening enjoyment.

I started with a Nova 300 and a Node N130. I then experimented, swapping the Nova for a vintage amp, which revealed the need for a better DAC. I upgraded to the Node Icon streamer, and things sounded good, but not great.

That's when I contacted Peachtree and ordered the Stereo X. Paired with the Node Icon and my Merlin TSM MXR bookshelf speakers (plus an SVS Micro 3000 sub crossed over at 50 Hz), the sound is now exactly what I have been looking for. The XLR connections to the X, along with the trigger cable, made installation seamless.

The Stereo X has abundant power and provides great control over my speakers. The sound is tight and accurate at all volume levels. The improvements in soundstage, imaging, and dynamics are remarkable. I'm genuinely surprised by how good high-resolution streaming sounds now. Highly recommended!

I’m not a professional audiophile, but here’s what I heard moving from the Peachtree Nova 150 to the Peachtree Stereo X (NCoreX 500). My front end is a WiiM Ultra handling DSP/room correction and bass management to a KEF KC92 sub. The Ultra feeds the Stereo X via unbalanced RCA, and the amp drives my KEF LS50 Meta.

The Nova 150 is a strong performer with plenty of detail and a clean presentation, but the Stereo X is a clear step up. The soundstage opens noticeably: images lock in with better lateral spread and a more transparent center. Mid-bass from the LS50 Meta tightens up; at the same volume the bass feels cleaner, quicker, and slightly deeper, with less bloom around the crossover region. On transients kick drums, snare cracks and big orchestral hits, the Stereo X stays composed, as if there’s less momentary compression and more effortless headroom. As I nudge the volume higher, the amp maintains clarity and imaging instead of hardening up.

Practically, the upgrade also simplifies my chain: the Stereo X acts as a pure power amp while the WiiM Ultra handles all preamp/DSP duties with a mobile app management system. That combo seems to lower the overall noise floor and improve low-level detail.

Bottom line: Peachtree delivered with the Stereo X. It provides more grip, space, and ease without changing the tonal balance I like from the LS50 Meta. As an upgrade from an already very good Nova 150, it’s absolutely worth it. I’m a very satisfied customer.

I recently purchased the Stereo X without any prior reviews to guide me — I simply took a chance. I paired it with a Bluesound Node Icon via XLR balance connects feeding KEF R3 Metas using custom 16 speaker wires, replacing a Nova 300 integrated with modified KEF Q100's. For context, I only stream from Spotify in Lossless mode.

I loved the Nova 300 and it performed extremely well delivering good detail, clarity and voicing. But after moving into a larger room I was looking for more: more power, more detail, and better sound stage performance. I’ve been letting the new system burn in for around 100 hours and the longer it runs, the more it opens up.

So far, the Stereo X / Node Icon pairing has absolutely delivered. Sound stage is wider and deeper, detail retrieval has improved, and the overall presentation feels more spacious and controlled without losing musicality.

My long-term goal is to build a system and listening room that provide the kind of immersive depth and listening experience you would expect from a music hall like the Meyerson Symphony Center shown in the second picture. That will be tough in my current space with a 98" screen acting as a reflective surface and no acoustic treatment, but I plan to build a dedicated listening room where this system, perhaps adding another Stereo X running each in Bi Amp mode, a sub woofer and better speakers and hopefully create a listening experience closer to my goal!
