The Sound
The sound of the DS4.5 is much larger than its small size would lead you to believe. And it's even optimized for a close listening environment - just perfect for your desktop. This is a speaker with a serious pedigree. It shares its long-throw 4" woofer with Peachtree's more costly D4. This woofer is a custom-designed driver with cast basket and vented voice coil. No flimsy-stamped-basket, how-cheap-can-we-make-it, off-the-shelf "woofer" here.
And the DS4.5's precisely-engineered crossover blends the smooth-as-silk* dome tweeter - taken, once again, from our more expensive D4 and D5 - effortlessly into the overall sonic picture. This is a small speaker with balanced bass, smooth and extended highs, and a deep and solid stereo image - a rare achievement, indeed.
