You Ask - We Answer
Q: Does BT1 support the AAC codec? I want to stream from iOS devices, which do not have aptX, and at least want the sound quality associated with support for AAC.
A: We didn't license the AAC codec for the BT1. In our group testing we found that there was virtually no difference between AAC and the standard A2DP SBC codec in this specific implementation.
Q: Is this device Bluetooth 4?
A: It's a Bluetooth 3.0 device. There aren't any sound quality differences between 3.0 and 4.0. Most of 4.0's new spec deals with low energy applications for wearables and other Bluetooth devices.
Q: Is there any reason why I could not use this in a car, powered with my 5V adapter?
A: You can definitely use it in your car with a 5V/1.0A USB power adaptor. We even include a USB power cable in the box.
